Mosque targeted, bricks pelted on policemen, 40 hurt

A far-right mob targeted a mosque in north-west England that saw three young girls fatally stabbed during a peaceful vigil in their memory, wounding 40 police officers in the disorder.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who had earlier visited the site of Monday's brutal stabbing attack on a dance studiot, condemned the "thuggery" and said the crowd had hijacked what had earlier been a peaceful vigil attended by hundreds in the centre of Southport to mourn the dead and 10 surviving stabbing victims, seven of whom were in critical condition.
