Another 65 women report claims of abuse by Al Fayed
The Guardian|October 11, 2024
Another 65 women have come forward with allegations of abuse by Mohamed Al Fayed going as far back as 1977. Since the broadcast of the BBC documentary Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods, in which five women claimed to have been raped by the billionaire, more women have come forward with claims of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape, the BBC reported.
Alexandra Topping

The broadcaster said 37 of the 65 latest women to come forward said they had worked at Harrods. One woman said she was assaulted by the former Harrods and Fulham FC owner - who died last year aged 94 - in Dubai in 1977, the earliest accusation of abuse to date.

In a statement to the BBC, Harrods said: "Since the airing of the documentary, so far there are 200-plus individuals who are now in the Harrods process to settle claims directly with the business."

Ainslie revels in underdog role as Ineos Britannia plot fightback

Twenty-four hours can be a long time on the water. When the sea state off Barcelona changed on Tuesday, the balance of the 37th America's Cup shifted with it. All of a sudden, Ineos Britannia, who were trailing Emirates Team New Zealand 4-0 in the best-of-13 series, were swept back into contention. The America's Cup is a competition for sailboat builders as well as sailors, and the subtle design differences between the two AC75 yachts gave the British team an advantage in the heavier weather. Soon enough, they had pulled the score back to 4-2.
