DRAKE'S Island is going back to its roots and reopening as an adventure activity centre. The team in charge of bringing the historic island back to life is offering the chance for people in Plymouth and beyond to enjoy a tour and take part in a day of thrilling adventure activities.
The island was used as an outdoor activity centre by Plymouth City Council from the early 1960s to the late 1980s. During this time the island hosted countless school groups and social clubs, offering young people the chance to take a break from the city and take part in some hair-raising activities, including abseiling, climbing and kayaking.
