MORGAN Whittaker is used to playing the role of Plymouth Argyle's lastgasp hero and he was at it again by grabbing the dramatic stoppage time equaliser which salvaged a point from a thrilling 3-3 draw with Preston North End on Saturday.
For the first 50 minutes, the Pilgrims had been awful and looked on course for a third successive defeat before Freddie Issaka's first professional goal gave the Pilgrims hope.
Andre Gray then headed in his first goal for the club, which set up yet another frantic finale at Home Park.
And in the 92nd minute, Mustapha Bundu laid the ball off to Whittaker to steer home a shot at the near post to salvage an unlikely point and once again send the Devonport End into raptures.
"We had been talking about in training with their goalkeeper and about getting shots off quickly," Whittaker said of his goal. "We felt we might have a chance and when we have players like Bundu to get on the ball, I just know to get in the positions and he will find me, so I just tried to get my shot off as quickly as possible and hoped it would go in.
