PLYMOUTH Argyle owner Simon Hallett has hit back at critics of the club's director of football Neil Dewsnip.
Some of the Green Army have been critical of the 59-year-old, ever since the sacking of former head coach Ian Foster, claiming he is "pulling the strings" at Home Park.
Hallett has jumped to Dewsnip's defence, though, and highlighted the work he has done since being brought to the club in August 2019, initially as a technical consultant before he was appointed as director of football three months later.
"I have heard comments made about Neil Dewsnip being the 'puppeteer' of our football department," Hallett said, with some bemusement. "People should remember that Neil's title is director of football, so directing the football side is quite literally his job.
