Author launches latest book full of scary stories

PLYMOUTH author Johnny Mains’ latest collection of scary stories has been launched in Devon - even though it is a book about his native Scotland.
Author launches latest book full of scary stories

Johnny has made his home in Plymouth for many years and says he loves the city and Devon, but he has returned to the place of his birth for Scotland the Strange: Weird Tales from Storied Lands.

The collection, which Johnny edited, follows the runaway success of Celtic Weird: Tales of Wicked Folklore and Dark Mythology, now on its second print run and soon to come out in the USA.

Both are high-quality tomes published in hardback by the prestigious British Library, and while Celtic Weird featured eerie stories by Celtic authors, including Cornish writers, Scotland the Strange focuses only on those from north of the border.

It contains 17 tales and one poem, by the great Robert Louis Stevenson, and an enthralling introduction from Johnny.
