Award scheme finds student's foraging booklet a winner

A PLYMOUTH arts student has won an award for an illustrated project about ethical foraging.

Zara McDermott (pictured above), a BA (Hons) Illustration student at Arts University Plymouth, won Silver at the Creative Conscience Awards with an innovative booklet or 'zine! Zara was recognised in the Health, Wellbeing and Disability category of the awards, which are designed to celebrate exciting projects that focus on social or environmental impact.

Zara won an Arts University Plymouth Global Challenges Award earlier in the summer for the project and was by the supported BA (Hons) Illustration team to submit the project for the awards.

Zara said: "I'm over the moon to have won a Creative Conscience award. It's great to be showcased alongside such an array of amazing projects and creatives.
