Big appetite for function room on top of eatery

YOU’LL go ape when you see Plymouth’s new function room. 

Plates Lounge is bright and colourful and it’s got a huge picture of a chimpanzee on the wall.

The North Hill venue has been opened on the floor above Plates restaurant, in what was once a bar and pool room. Jordan Turfrey and his partner Alicia Harding took over the Sherwell Arcade unit in March and transformed the ground floor from what was once an all-night chip shop into a topfive city restaurant.

Now they have invested a further £10,000 into revamping the empty space up above and have launched it as Plates Lounge, available for hire for events and parties. Already inquiries are building and a delighted Mr Turfrey said: “It’s open for hire now, we’ve got bookings coming in.”
