Brothers' play is inspired by the lore of Dartmoor

TWO Plymouth brothers who have both become professional actors in London are returning to the city to tour a play based on their fascination with the myths and legends of Dartmoor.

Tom and Ben Sanigar who go by the professional name of The Sanigar Brothers cut their theatrical teeth with The Wranglers theatre company in Plymouth. They have since moved to London to forge their acting careers.

But they are returning to the Westcountry this month to tour their production The Heart of Dartmoor at various locations across Plymouth and on Dartmoor from August 8 to 18.

They describe the play as a love letter to the beautiful area where they grew up and fell in love with theatre.

Tom said: "We grew up in Plymouth performing with The Wranglers Theatre led by Wendy Holmes and our Grandfather, Barry Sanigar. Since then we have both trained as professional actors but given our connection to Devon, we feel it's incredibly important for our work to be shared in our hometown and surrounding areas.
