Changes to school rules 'not good enough'

A PARENTS’ group has criticised changes to controversial behaviour policies announced for a group of schools as not going far enough.

There will be some amendments in the new academic year to behaviour policies enforced by the Ted Wragg Trust at its schools in Plymouth following a lengthy review.

The trust, which runs schools including All Saints Church of England Academy, Marine Academy Plymouth and Marine Academy Primary in Plymouth, announced a number of changes after it carried out a series of “listening sessions” earlier this year.

Parents have been told all pupils at trust schools will be given free breakfasts, uniform will also be available for every child to borrow on arrival at school if needed, students will receive free sanitary products and there will also be investment in vape alarms.

The changes were made after the Reset Ted Wragg Trust (RTWT) campaign was launched by parents demanding urgent changes to what they described as failing and ‘unrealistic’ policies which they claimed were impacting upon pupils’.
