SEVEN women are preparing to take legal action against Devon and Cornwall Police over claims the force did not investigate serving and former police officers accused of domestic abuse, it has been reported.
The women, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, allege the force 'protected' the accused officers and promoted some into specialist roles dealing with violence against women, despite allegations against them.
The group of women had relationships with the men they are accusing, in allegations spanning from the 1990s to the present day, the BBC and The Guardian are reporting. One woman told The Guardian that she had been "failed completely" by the force.
