Oreston-based H.Watts Florist has been running for 73 years, but was taken over by mum and daughter Fiona Pannell, 58, and Louise Pannell, 33.
The duo took over in March this year and are already in the running for Retail Florist of the Year, awarded by The British Florist Association.
The shop was originally owned and run by the Watts family for several decades, but new owners Fiona and Louise, who have always lived nearby, wanted to keep the original name.
The shop was established by Harry and Kath Watts back in 1950. In those days it started out as a fruit and veg shop, then Kath brought floristry into the quaint little store. Since those days, there have been a couple more owners before Fiona and Louise took it on, but it’s always been a florist.
