Diners mourn loss of Lorenzos after 30 years

FOR some people it was all about the linguine, for others it was the service and atmosphere, and for some it was where they found love. But whatever their reason, hundreds of people have been stunned and saddened by the demise of Plymouth restaurant Lorenzos.

The Derry’s Cross venue is closing this week after 30 years of providing Spanish style food and fun. During recent years Lorenzos became a huge draw for theatre stars including Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke and Shane Richie – and was a regular haunt of Tom Daley and his diving team-mates.

But as Plymouth writer Victoria Trevor posted on Facebook: “Knickers to all the celebs! I’ve been going there for years. Danced to the Gypsy Kings with maracas on the bar and had many celebrations there. I’m very sad to hear this news.”
