JOE Edwards could reach a notable milestone for Plymouth Argyle when they travel to Coventry City in the Championship tonight.
The 33-year-old is one match away from making his 200th total appearance for the Pilgrims, and would become only the 70th player in club history to reach that mark (credit the excellent Greens on Screens website for that stat).
Edwards was recalled by Steven Schumacher to play at right-back against the very talented Jack Clarke in the game against Sunderland at Home Park on Saturday and the Argyle manager was delighted with how he performed in the 2-0 win.
Schumacher said: “I thought Joe Edwards was top class, playing against one of the best players in the Championship in Jack Clarke. He obviously got in a couple of times for them but Joe did brilliantly against him.”
Edwards has made 11 starts and two substitute appearances for Argyle in the Championship this season, with the versatile Kaine KeslerHayden sometimes used in the right back or right-wing-back roles, depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition.
