PLYMOUTH Foodbank has seen a massive 67% increase in demand compared to last winter, having served nearly 130,000 meals to 14,000 people so far this year.
The city charity says it is struggling to cope with a surge in demand after seeing 73% drop in food donations and a significant fall in financial contributions.
Plymouth Labour MP Luke Pollard has called for more financial support for the foodbank after taking part in a volunteering session at its Stonehouse base this week.
