Foster 'really proud' of players after they notch victory on road

It was the Pilgrims' first Championship victory on their travels at the 15th attempt and Foster, despite his short tenure at the club, acknowledged the significance of it.

While Morgan Whittaker grabbed the all-important goal, it took an excellent all-round defensive effort and some terrific saves from in-form keeper Conor Hazard to secure three valuable points in south-west Wales.

Argyle have had three away matches since Foster took charge and they followed up 1-1 draws against Huddersfield Town in the league and Leeds United in the FA Cup fourth round with the defeat of Swansea.

Foster said: "In my short time at the football club we have had to find a way of winning on the road, and sometimes you have to make certain sacrifices in order to do that.

"Our challenge and my challenge is to maintain the attacking threat that we have, but from a really solid defensive structure, and that was probably a perfect performance for us today in terms of doing that. A clean sheet on the road.
