Help for fisherman, 13, after boat destroyed

A YOUNG Cornish fisherman is mourning the loss of his boat, which was found dashed to pieces on rocks after drifting away from its mooring at high tide.

Antony Newcombe, aged just 13, from Cawsand, began selling fresh fish and crabs he had caught "with no carbon footprint on Cawsand beach".

An outpouring of local generosity has seen an appeal set up to help Antony secure another vessel has already hit its initial £2,000 target.

Last year, Antony told The Herald about his goal to supply Cornish restaurants with fish, crab and lobster he had caught. The young fisherman had hoped to sell enough to upgrade to a bigger vessel this year.
