A BUSINESS owner who runs an allwomen decorating firm based in Plymouth says customers “prefer” to hire her team – and that she would “100%” recommend that others follow in her footsteps.
Annette Taylor owns Eliza Tay Lady Decorators and spoke about changing people’s perceptions about what has historically been a male-dominated industry.
It comes after a study by quote comparison website My Local Toolbox highlighted the growing demand for tradeswomen. An analysis of online search trends found a number of queries had shown triple-digit growth over the past 12 months, including ‘lady plumber near me’, ‘lady painter and decorator near me’ and ‘female carpenter near me’.
Annette said: “Originally, it was just a hobby of mine... something I learned as a young girl. I used to help my father decorate at home and took a special interest in wallpapering.
