PLYMOUTH’S new Moor View MP Fred Thomas has written to the health secretary to secure a ‘cast iron commitment’ that the new government will complete the construction of a new emergency centre at Derriford.

New MP determined to tackle city's NHS 'crisis'

In his first parliamentary intervention as Labour MP for Plymouth Moor View, Mr Thomas said that the new facility will be vital for the sake of both patients and ‘selfless’ NHS staff.

Mr Thomas said it is his ‘mission’ to see through the construction to ‘get patients seen on time’, as well as improving GP provision, social care and mental health services in Plymouth.
