Parkway face lengthy FA Cup trip if they can see off Frome

Parkway needed a late Jack Crago goal on Saturday to rescue a draw against Frome, who ply their trade in the Southern League Division One South – one league lower than Parkway. However, there was little to choose between the two teams at Bolitho Park with Parkway twice coming from behind to force the draw.

Now, they must head to deepest Somerset for tonight’s replay with not only a £3,375 prize at stake, but a place in the next round – and a winnable tie, albeit a long way from home.

Isthmian League Premier Division side Cray, who are one division higher than Ramsgate, played out a 2-2 draw on Saturday with Ramsgate scoring twice in the last four minutes to force the draw. The replay will take place at Southwood Road tomorrow night, with the winners meeting either Parkway or Frome on Saturday, September 30.

“It’s definitely winnable but, logistically, Ramsgate could be an absolute nightmare, really,” Hobbs said, in the possibility of a 580-mile roundtrip and 12-hour drive, there and back, although Cray – based in Sidcup, Kent, is 240 miles from Plymouth and a near five-hour drive.
