AN initiative by a female Metropolitan Police officer following the murder of Sarah Everard by off-duty cop Wayne Couzens is to be trialled across Devon and Cornwall.
In simple terms, it encourages people to contact police about places they feel unsafe and then 'walk and talk' the route with a female officer to understand the problems and hopefully find solutions to make it feel safer.
The new initiative in Devon and Cornwall offers women aged 18 and over a chance to tell police which areas do not feel safe and ensure officers get boots on the ground to find out why.
