Manager Lee Hobbs made three changes to the starting lineup from the 1-0 defeat at Basingstoke last time out. Shane White, returning from his one-match suspension, replaced Alex Cairo; Rio Garside came in for Cameron Sangster in midfield and Jack Crago for Reece Thomson in attack.
Parkway made the brighter start creating a couple of early opportunities with Dylan Jones and Callum Hall both firing wide, while White headed just over from a Mikey Williams cross.
The hosts created their first-half chance on 16 minutes, but George Dowling’s close-range shot was comfortably saved by Parkes.
Having rode the early storm, Marine forced their way back into the game and took the lead on 19 minutes. A corner on the left was poorly defended by Parkway allowing central defender Ioan Richards to power home a forceful header at the back post despite the best efforts of Parkes to keep it out.
Parkway responded well, continuing to press and compete as the game became a more even affair, with both sides creating half-chances.
