Tavistock boosted by the return of Battle
The Herald|October 23, 2024
BACK-TO-BACK defeats to Bishops Cleeve and leaders Yate Town have seen Tavistock plummet down the Southern League Division One South table and they sit just above the dropzone ahead of their home clash with rock bottom Shaftesbury tonight.

Despite that slide, though, manager Stuart Henderson is not too flustered, safe in the knowledge that, when his team do things right, which is more often than not, they are more than a match for anyone in the division.

Some defeats in recent weeks have left the Lambs boss frustrated, such as the heavy home defeat to Helston, when Tavi were not at the races, or the loss to Bishops Cleeve where two soft goals in quick succession changed the course of the game. But others – like the weekend loss at Yate – are more accepting.

“I thought Saturday, to a degree, was a good performance and you have to remember what you are up against. It is two clubs in the same league, but in very different positions,” Henderson said.
