A PLYMOUTH teenager with a 'heart of gold' has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which has spread to her lungs.
Now her family are hoping to make her wish come true and take her to Disneyland and Dubai.
Jessica Bamsey, 17, had just started an apprenticeship at Derriford Hospital as a occupational healthcare assistant when she started experiencing a number of concerning symptoms, including a persistent cough, lactating from her breasts, feeling very faint, sickness, bad back pain, a lot of fluid in her stomach, and hair loss.
After undergoing numerous tests, Jessica was told she has stage 4 ovarian cancer, which has now also spread to her lungs. Her older sister, Chloe, said the diagnosis came as a complete shock to the family but said Jessica has "taken everything in her stride".
"If anyone knows my sister, you can all agree what a lovely, caring, and mature young girl she is," Chloe said.
