PLYMOUTH saw thousands of school suspensions during the 2022-2023 academic year. There were 787,000 suspensions across England in that time period, with four city secondary schools recording more than 500 suspensions each.
Marine Academy saw the highest number of suspensions during the last school year, with 672. Sir John Hunt Community Sports College saw 624 suspensions and Plympton Academy saw 548.
Stoke Damerel Community College actioned 517 school suspensions in the 22/23 school year but also had the highest number of exclusions with 13.
Millbay Academy, which saw 231 suspensions, had the second highest number of exclusions with eight.
