UNFORTUNATE OWN GOAL TOOK THE WIND OUT OF OUR SAILS’
CHRIS ERRINGTON
TOUGH ONE ΤΟ TAKE

IAN Foster thought Plymouth Argyle had tried their best against top opposition in Ipswich Town but it was still not enough to prevent them from slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Home Park.

The Pilgrims had given a good account of themselves against promotion-chasing Ipswich but had been coming under increasing pressure in the second half before they fell behind in unfortunate circumstances. Conor Chaplin's 63rd minute shot would have gone wide of the target but instead it hit defender Brendan Galloway and the huge deflection took it into Argyle's net.

Foster felt his players were flat after the disappointment of conceding like that and they fell further behind in the 74th minute when Wales international striker Kieffer Moore fired home from close range and that was effectively the end of the contest.

It was a third consecutive Home Park defeat for Argyle following losses to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion, and all without scoring a goal, and leaves them just two points above the relegation zone.
