FESTIVE HAMPERS DELIVERED ACROSS CITY
Volunteers bring joy to so many

MORE than 100 festive food hampers have been delivered to the most isolated members of the Plymouth community, thanks to a city charity.

It's the fourth year The Elder Tree has organised the hampers, with the support of Plymouth City Council and the Household Support Fund.

The charity has distributed 140 hampers across the city this week with volunteers helping Elder Tree's staff members to make sure they are delivered before Christmas Day.

Elder Tree works in partnership with Plymouth City Council, Livewell Southwest and the statutory and voluntary sectors to deliver an innovative preventative service that alleviates loneliness and social isolation in the over-50s across the city. It receives an average 70 referrals a month from statutory and voluntary partners, families and friends as well as individuals themselves.
