Victory of Delhiites, BJP goons defeated: CM

AFTER three failed attempts in the last two-and-a-half months since the MCD polls, Delhi finally got its mayor on Wednesday with AAP candidate Shelly Oberoi comfortably defeating BJP’s Rekha Gupta in the election.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the results as a victory of Delhiities and hit out at the BJP, saying “goons” were defeated.

The party leaders hailed the victory as it ended 15 years’ of rule of BJP in the corporation. Kejriwal said, “The people of Delhi won and BJP’s hooliganism was defeated. Congratulations to the people of Delhi on Shelly Oberoi being elected as the mayor.”
