To enhance participation of women in paramilitary, the government has announced plans to recruit 4,138 women personnel in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assam Rifles in 2025.

Of the total, the BSF will have the largest share of 2,419, followed by the CISF with 818, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police with 456, officials reported on Saturday.

As per the plan, the officials said the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will get 242 women personnel, while the Sashastra Seema Bal will bring in 103 women personnel. The Assam Rifles, which is deployed along the India-Myanmar border and is under operational control of the Indian Army, will recruit 100 women officials.
