KRRS, Green Brigade urge Union govt to engage with farmers

FARMERS and members of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Green Brigade staged a protest in front of the DC's office here on Thursday, in support of agitation launched by Samyukta Kisan Morcha at the Shambhu border in Haryana, demanding the Union government to fulfill the promise of giving legal sanctity to Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been fasting for 38 days and his health has deteriorated. The Union government should fulfill the promises at the earliest, the members of Raitha Sangha urged.

State president of Raitha Sangha H R Basavarajja said that for 13 months, the farmers staged an agitation on the outskirts of Delhi demanding the government to withdraw the three farm laws, to provide legal sanctity to MSP and not to privatize the electricity supply sector.
