LEGENDARY Malayalam literateur MT Vasudevan Nair who attained iconic proportions in both Malayalam cinema and literature through his wide canvas of literary creations, passed away on Wednesday. He was 91.

A Padma Bhushan awardee, MT etched himself into history as a novelist, short story writer, screenplay writer, filmographer and literary editor during his seven-decade long literary career. He has been chosen for almost all major literary awards, including the Jnanpith, Kendra Sahitya Akademi award, Kerala Sahitya Academy award, Ezhuthachan award and JC Daniel honour.
