TN Guv disburses ₹1 crore pension arrears to kin of former defence personnel

GOVERNOR RN Ravi disbursed pension arrears worth ₹1 crore to family members of retired armed force personnel at the golden jubilee celebration of the SPARSH- System for Pension Administration (Raksha) Outreach-programme organised at VIT University on Saturday.

While speaking at the event organised by the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) of Chennai, the Governor said that Vellore may have the highest number of its residents working in the armed forces in Tamil Nadu, with Ranuvapettai, a village in Vellore, comprising of around 4,000 armed force personnel.

Over 2,000 defence pensioners and their families attended the programme. Kin of personnel who died in the line of duty (Veer Naris), along with Chakra awardees were honoured.
