An Army official said that the 2.5-tonne vehicle, which was part of a convoy of six, was heading to the Balnoi Ghora post, when the accident happened near the border fence at Gharoa area along the Line of Control in Poonch at around 5.20 pm.
Ten soldiers were travelling in the ill-fated vehicle.
A rescue operation was immediately launched and all the 10 injured Army men were evacuated to Field Hospital in Poonch. However, doctors declared five of the jawans "brought dead".
