But for five-year-old Teghbir Singh from Ropar in Punjab, it was a year-old dream that came true when he reached Africa's tallest peak on August 23. In doing so, he became the youngest person from Asia to scale the 5,895-metre tall mountain.
After a year of preparation, Teghbir started the trek on August 18 and reached the Uhuru peak on August 23, battling fierce snowstorms on the way.
