The deceased, M Karthik Pandiyan, who was employed in a workshop, was in love with Nandhini Kumari (22). The couple had got married eight months ago against the wishes of her family, sources said.
According to police, the assailants attacked Karthik with machetes around 9pm on Wednesday when he was on his way home after picking up Nandhini from a supermarket located at Reserveline in Sivakasi town where she was employed. Though Karthik Pandiyan was rushed to the Virudhunagar government medical college hospital, he was declared brought-dead, cality and they wanted to wreak sources said.
