THE National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) on Friday threatened to return to violent ways if the Centre does not agree for a "third-party" intervention to address its demands, which include a separate flag and constitution for the Nagas.

NSCN (I-M) threatens violence, seeks '3rd-party' intervention in Naga issue

The NSCN (I-M), which carried out a violent insurgency in Nagaland soon after Independence in 1947, entered into a cease-fire pact in 1997 before starting prolonged peace talks with the Centre's interlocutors. On August 3, 2015, the group signed a Framework Agreement with the government in the presence of PM Narendra Modi to find a permanent solution.
