This declaration has enabled the release of over ₹291 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF).

Addressing the Krushi Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister announced that financial assistance would be provided to farmers affected by crop damage. Farmers whose crops have suffered damage of 33% or more will receive support from the SDRF. An input subsidy of over ₹291 crore has been allocated for this purpose.

According to reports from district collectors, crops covering over 2,26,791 hectares of land cultivated by 6,66,720 farmers have been damaged by more than 33%. These farmers will receive financial assistance.

The Chief Minister also informed that 2.61 lakh farmers have applied for compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Compensation is being directly transferred to the bank accounts of insured farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system starting today.

"The government stands firmly with the farmers and will continue to support you," said the Chief Minister. He expressed hope that this financial assistance would not only mitigate their losses but also encourage them to continue farming in the future.

Highlighting the importance of agriculture, the Chief Minister noted, "Seventy percent of our people rely on agriculture and allied sectors for their livelihood. It is the duty of the government to ensure their development and provide unwavering support."
