Trinamul Congress's national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, before leaving for New Delhi to lead the party's protest programme there, accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state BJP leaders of depriving the state of central funds for various projects.

Speaking to the media at the NSCBI Airport, he also demanded the arrest of Union Minister of Rural Development Giriraj Singh for two recent accidents and several deaths due to the collapse of mud-wall houses in Bankura.

He said that poor people are not receiving Central funds to build pucca houses as they are blocked by the Union minister. He alleged that the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the state's BJP leaders are plotting to deprive Bengal ofits dues and they are equally responsible for the deaths of three children following the collapse of amudhouse in Bankura on Saturday.

Mr Banerjee alleged that the people of Bengal are suffering due to neglect after BJP lost in the state's recent elections.
