Chief minister Mamata Banerjee today in the Assembly proposed that the Centre should approach the United Nations to send a peacekeeping force in Bangladesh. She also demanded a statement from either the Prime Minister or the foreign minister in Parliament on the issue.
"These are my proposals. Let the Prime Minister give a statement on the matter and seek UN intervention," the chief minister said after mentioning these two proposals on the floor of the state Assembly.
