Apart from a century from Rohit Sharma in the first Test and Cheteshwar Pujara's valiant knock in the 3rd Test, the Indian top order has failed to fire. The likes of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyar and Virat Kohli would need to step up to help India cement their place in the World Test Championship finals. The lower order, comprising of Axar Patel, Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja has been solid for India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 series.
