Suspense continued over who would be the next chief minister in Karnataka after the Congress party's thumping win in the state, but party sources were quoted by news agencies as saying the new CM would take oath on Thursday.
The Congress called a meeting of its MLAs today at a five-star hotel in Bengaluru to discuss who would be the Chief Minister. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) unanimously passed a resolution leaving it to the Congress national president to decide the Chief Minister pick.
In New Delhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the AICC observers will convey the opinion of the party's MLAs to the high command which will then take a final decision.
