Let English cookbook author and food writer Nigella Lawson, 64, take you instead, in her new hour-long special Nigella's Amsterdam Christmas. It premieres on Dec 3 at 8.30pm on BBC Lifestyle (StarHub TV Channel 432 or Singtel TV Channel 255) and BBC Player.
In the show, she visits some of her favourite places in Amsterdam, such as Bakhuys bakery, cheese shop De Kaaskamer van Amsterdam and Het Oud-Hollandsch Snoepwinkeltje, a sweet shop that specialises in liquorice.
A regular visitor to Amsterdam since her 20s, Lawson picked the city for its cosy Christmas atmosphere.
Follow her back to the kitchen in London – amid the warm glow of twinkling fairy lights and Christmas baubles – where, in her true domestic goddess fashion, she showcases Dutch-inspired recipes with a twist.
