CBI FILES FIR IN RG KAR CASE, SAYS NO GANG RAPE, SUSPECT DEMANDS LIE-DETECTOR TEST

The investigation into the tragic rape and murder of a 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has intensified as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) takes charge of multiple facets of the case. The probe has not only focused on the brutal assault and murder but also on alleged financial irregularities at the medical college, creating a complex web of investigations.

Following a recent court order, the CBI has been entrusted with investigating financial misconduct at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) transferred all related documents to the CBI, highlighting alleged financial irregularities linked to former principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh. The transfer of these documents marks a significant shift in the investigation, moving from the SIT's jurisdiction to that of the CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch.
