The Congress party's president Mallikarjun Kharge therefore was seen to be angry in the recently held Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting with the leaders who failed to perform in several states.
According to a CWC member, Kharge scolded atleast four top leaders present in the meeting for their inability to upgrade their respective states unit cadres and for their lack of seriousness in devising a proper strategy. The leaders Kharge scolded include, the General Secretary incharge of North Eastern states Ajoy Kumar, Bihar Congress incharge Mohan Prakash, ex chief minister Uttrakhand Harish Rawat and the inhouse ace strategist Sunil Konugolu.
