ALICE TAI had to relearn how to swim when she chose to have her leg amputated two years ago - now she is a Paralympic champion.

The 25-year-old stormed to S8 women's 100m backstroke glory in a Games record time of 1:09.06, nearly six seconds clear of the competition.
