..AND HIS MERRY MEN AT COVENTRY ARE EYEING A LATE PUSH TO PLAY-OFFS
NEIL MOXLEY
Robins good

MARK ROBINS is the fifth manager longest-serving currently working in English football.

Two of those ahead of him are Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp.

However, it is arguable whether either have done a more valuable job for their respective clubs than the Coventry City boss.

In six years Robins has grabbed the Sky Blues out of League Two, and propelled them despite a two-year ground-sharing hiatus to within striking distance of the Premier League.

All on a shoestring budget and set against the backdrop of a bitter fight between City supporters and its ownership.

A change in the boardroom this season with Warwickshire businessman Doug King taking control after hated hedge-fund owners SISU has now healed some of the pain.

But it cannot hide the magnitude of the work Robins has undertaken during his second spell in the Sky Blues' hotseat.
