THE detective who caught paroled wife killer Russell Causley says he is a psychopath who can never reform.
Causley, now 79, was released last week after serving two decades behind bars for murder.
His parole hearing in December was the first to be held in public and the first one televised.
It ruled that he could be let out even though the body of Carole Packman has never been found.
Retired detective superintendent Anthony Nott said: "He's a psychopath. Some killers can't reform they are what they are.
"He's a constant liar and he's incapable of feeling empathy. That's a chip he doesn't have."
Causley killed wife Carole in Bournemouth in 1985. He was finally brought to justice 11 years later, after being jailed for a different offence.
But the former aircraft engineer has always refused to lead police to his wife's remains.
