BARK the herald angels sing...these three wonder dogs are about to celebrate their first Christmas in their fur-ever homes.
The incredible stories of rescued dogs Nina, Dougie and Rookie are enough to fill even the coldest hearts with festive cheer.
Wet and freezing American bulldog cross Nina was on death's door when RSPCA officers saved her and four others from an empty home in Nottinghamshire last December.
She was so underweight that her spine and ribs were visible. Nina was so grateful when rescuers wrapped her in a warm, dry towel that she covered them in licks.
Now Nini, as she is affectionately known, lives in a warm, happy home and enjoys covering owner Alison Southgate in kisses.
Alison says: "The first time I saw her face, I just fell in love. Then I read her story and I cried.
