2 men held for sexually abusing girls from Medchal orphanage

Hyderabad: Two men were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing two girls at a private orphanage in MedchalMalkajgiri district. One of the accused is an accountant at the facility.

On October 19, according to police, three minors and an 18-year-old girl from the orphanage went missing. Based on the complaint lodged by the management, a missing case was registered. They told police that the girls left the premises without informing caretakers.

Within six hours after the complaint was lodged on October 19, two missing minor girls were traced by the police at Secunderabad. Later, Rachakonda police produced the girls before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

“Based on the information given by the duo, two other missing girls were located in Sangareddy district in the custody of one of the accused. The girls were counselled in the presence of women and child welfare department officials. During counselling, we came to know the accused had sexually abused the 18-yearold girl,” Neredmet inspector A Narasimha Swamy said.

The Neredmet police shared details about the 18-yearold girl’s statement with their Sangareddy counterparts, who registered a zero FIR under Section 376 of the IPC against the offender.
