A week after space tech startup Skyroot Aerospace skyrocketed into history by sending India's first privately developed rocket Vikram-S into suborbital space, another Hyderabad startup, Dhruva Space, has carved a place for itself in India's space history.

On Saturday, Dhruva Space's nanosatellites, Thybolt-1 and Thybolt-2, launched as part of Mission Thybolt became the first privately owned and indigenously developed satellites to vroom into space from Indian soil.

The two amateur radio (ham radio) communication nanosatellites, were among the nine satellites launched by Isro onboard the PSLV C54 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR at Sriharikota a few minutes before noon.
